Effective July 1, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been cut by Rs. 183.50, marking a significant reduction after months of steep hikes driven by the West Asia conflict.

However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, providing no relief to household consumers.

Revised prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders in major metros

  • Delhi: Rs. 3,113.50
  • Mumbai: Rs. 3,067.50
  • Kolkata: Rs. 3,255.50
  • Chennai: Rs. 3,283.00

The latest reduction comes after several rounds of price hikes in commercial LPG cylinders over the past few months, largely driven by volatility in global crude oil and energy markets amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Commercial LPG cylinders are primarily used by hotels, restaurants, eateries and other businesses.

Any change in their prices directly impacts operating costs in the hospitality and food services sector.

In contrast, the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders, used by households, have remained unchanged in this revision.

Domestic LPG prices are revised separately and are influenced by international fuel prices, exchange rates and government subsidy policies.

Oil marketing companies review LPG prices at the beginning of every month based on changes in international benchmark prices and other market factors.

The July 1 cut is expected to provide some relief to commercial users, particularly the hospitality sector, by lowering fuel costs.
