India has 6,586 operational Public EV Charging Stations
New Delhi/IBNS: There are 6,586 operational public EV charging stations in India as of March 1, 2023, according to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

Of these, a total of 419 Public Charging Stations (PCS) are operational across the national highway in the country.
Under phase II of the FAME-India Scheme, Rs 1000 crore is allocated for the development of charging infrastructure.
The Power Ministry has sanctioned 2,877 electric vehicle charging stations in 68 cities across 25 states/UTs.
Further, 1576 charging stations across 9 Expressways and 16 Highways under phase II of FAME India Scheme has also been sanctioned.
