The company announced the plan at the second edition of its Seller Growth Connect programme in Kolkata on Friday, where it hosted existing and prospective entrepreneurs and conducted onboarding sessions to help small businesses join its platform.
The initiative is designed to help regional sellers access Myntra's customer base of more than 75 million active users while expanding the digital reach of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the state.
Myntra currently works with around 1,700 brands from West Bengal across categories, including apparel, personal care and accessories.
The company said it plans to strengthen participation from traditional textile clusters such as Shantipur, Dhaniakhali and Bishnupur, known for their handloom products.
"We power the small businesses and MSMEs of India and connect them to customers across the country. That is essentially what Myntra's ethos is," Bedanta Dutta, Senior Director – Marketplace at Myntra, told IBNS.
Dutta said West Bengal has significant potential to scale its artisanal and textile businesses nationally through digital commerce. He said the company provides sellers with consumer insights and demand trends to help them better plan inventory and product offerings.
"All insights are provided to our seller community so they can configure their business accordingly to satisfy customer demand," he said.
On women's entrepreneurship, Dutta highlighted Myntra's MynShakti programme, which supports women-led businesses joining the platform.
"Over the past one and a half years, more than 150 women-led businesses have emerged through this initiative," he said.
Dutta said Generation Z now accounts for about half of Myntra's customer base, prompting the company to focus on faster delivery and trend-driven merchandising.
He added that sellers are encouraged to maintain an active social media presence to respond quickly to changing consumer preferences.
The expansion comes as e-commerce platforms intensify efforts to deepen their seller base beyond metropolitan centres and bring traditional artisans and regional manufacturers into the country's growing online retail market, particularly ahead of the festive season, when consumer demand typically peaks.
