RBI increases repo rate to 6.5 pct

Mumbai: RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on Wednesday announced the decision to hike repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.5 percent.

No change in reverse repo rate was announced at 3.35 percent.

RBI made the announcement just a week after Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget.
