ReshaMandi launches version 2.0 of its IoT device to assist farmers in improving crop quality
Bengaluru: ReshaMandi, a farm-to-fashion digital ecosystem for natural fibres in India, recently launched version 2.0 of its IoT device, an in-house creation aimed at stepping up technical assistance to farmers.

IoT devices are provided to farmers who have partnered with Reshamandi as part of the platform’s overall product offering.
The Resha Abhivruddhi package, which includes the new IoT device, offers farmers a monetary assurance in case of crop failure and an insurance as well.
So far, 85% of the total claims made have been settled, with the highest claim made by a farmer being INR 1.8 lacs.
A 10 to 15% boost in farm-level yield has already been observed with farmers using the latest device. As per projections, this will rise to 25 to 30% in the future.
With a TFT display and a battery life of more than 48 hours with lower power consumption, this latest device is designed to monitor temperature and humidity. To connect to ReshaMandi’s main server, it has a dual SIM functionality that can support multiple network providers.. A disease detection tool has been introduced in the mobile app to assist the farmers in analysing crops while sending personalised real-time advisories whenever required . Besides a 30% lower chance of crop failure, farmers also receive crop insights from additional satellite-based data.
According to ReshaMandi’s Founder and CTO, Saurabh Agarwal, “Our primary mission is to assist farmers in increasing productivity by using cutting-edge technologies while also protecting them from crop failures. Our improvements in the device give long battery life, better connectivity in remotest of Indian villages, use of TFT panels on our latest IoT device will allow farmers to access data vital to operations not only on their mobile phones but also at the premises.”
