ISRO on Monday announced that the Aditya-L1 spacecraft, the first space-based Indian mission to study the Sun, will be launched from the SHAR Range, Sriharikota at 11:50 hrs on Sept 2.

ISRO will be using its workhorse and reliable launch vehicle PSLV-C57 for the mission.

In a post on X, the Indian space agency said: "PSLV-C57/Aditya-L1 Mission: The launch of Aditya-L1, the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun, is scheduled for September 2, 2023, at 11:50 hrs IST from Sriharikota."

The satellite has already been integrated with the launch vehicle, ISRO Chairman S.Somanath said and the countdown for this prestigious mission is likely to begin on Friday.
