UP govt rescues 95 people stranded in flood-hit Himachal Pradesh

Lucknow/IBNS/UNI: The Uttar Pradesh government has successfully brought back 95 people who were trapped in the Himachal Pradesh floods.


The stranded people from UP had gone to Himachal Pradesh for tourism, but were badly trapped in the midst of heavy rains, landslides and floods. The Yogi Adityanath government then ran a rescue mission to bring them back.

While some people are being brought back safely from there, the UP government has gathered information about the safety of others.

Due to poor networks or bad weather, the UP government has only been able to reach a few people. However, a campaign is being run by it to bring those people home safely as soon as possible.

According to the information received, a total of 307 people from UP had gone to Himachal Pradesh recently for various reasons, including tourism.

As soon as the news of the floods was received, the Yogi government gathered information about the people of UP being trapped and then launched the rescue mission.

Efforts are on to bring back 112 more stranded people. At the same time, information about the safety of 77 people in UP has been gathered through various means and arrangements are being made to bring them back soon.

As many as 23 people cannot be reached due a poor network, bad weather, damaged roads, or other issues.

However, the government has deployed its entire network to gather information about these 23 people and has assured that they will also be brought back to UP as soon as possible.

The 23 people who could not be contacted include people from districts like Kanpur, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Meerut, Agra, Kannauj, Jhansi, and Lakhimpur. Most of the people from UP had gone to Manali for tourism purposes.

Apart from this, some people also went to Mandi, Kullu, Kasol, Solan, Pulga, Soja, Sangla, Dharamshala, and Chandratal Valley, where they were trapped by the sudden disaster.
