AI takes centre stage as Modi meets Google CEO Sundar Pichai in Delhi. What issues were discussed?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where the two leaders discussed India’s rapid strides in Artificial Intelligence and potential areas of collaboration.
During the meeting, Modi highlighted the work being undertaken by India in the field of AI and explored ways in which Google could partner with Indian students and professionals to further strengthen innovation and skill development in the sector.
After the meeting, Modi posted on X: “It was a delight to meet Mr. Sundar Pichai on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit in Delhi. Talked about the work India is doing in AI and how Google can work with our talented students and professionals in this field.”
Pichai also shared details of the discussion on X, stating: “We discussed how Google is helping with his mission to infuse AI at all levels in India to improve health, expand access to information in all languages, support startups, agriculture and so much more. Thank you Prime Minister for bringing us together for this incredible summit.”
New Delhi is currently hosting the India AI Impact Summit, which has brought together world leaders, policymakers, industry experts and leading technology companies to deliberate on the future of artificial intelligence and its transformative potential across sectors.
