The collaboration will combine Sony’s advanced sensing and AI technologies with Aramco’s extensive industrial data, operational expertise, established infrastructure and portfolio of real-world industrial use cases.

The companies aim to co-develop innovative solutions designed to enhance situational awareness and improve response capabilities across industrial operations.

Under the MoU, Aramco, one of the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals companies, will provide domain expertise, data and infrastructure to evaluate Sony’s technologies in real-world industrial environments.

Sony will contribute its expertise in image sensing, edge AI and related technologies, with the collaboration focusing on practical applications that could help advance industrial AI capabilities.

Industrial Sensing and Situation Monitoring

The companies will explore the application of Sony’s advanced image-sensing and AI technologies in industrial environments, leveraging Aramco’s infrastructure and data to develop new approaches to situational awareness.

AI-Enabled Industrial Intelligence

The collaboration will assess opportunities to combine Sony’s sensing and AI capabilities with Aramco’s industrial expertise to explore capabilities for rapid response and coordination in industrial operations.

Advanced Intelligence Integration

The companies will explore integrating image and video intelligence with Aramco’s AI platforms to advance multimodal understanding and support the development of new industrial AI applications.

The collaboration will leverage Aramco’s scale of operations, extensive data assets and more than 90 years of operational experience as a real-world testing environment for emerging technologies.

Sony’s sensing and AI technologies will provide additional capabilities that can be explored alongside Aramco’s broader efforts to advance industrial AI development.
