Pradhan resigned after a month-long protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), who were camped at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
Activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest and began hunger strike on June 28 but weeks later he was forcefully removed by Delhi Police and was admitted to a government hospital.
Later, he was shifted to a private clinic as per a court order.
The protests escalated when police lathicharged in a heavy crackdown on the protesters during the Parliament March on July 20.
The police action triggered nationwide fury with thousands of people hitting streets to protests in all major cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna.
Though Union Ministers Jagat Prakash Nadda and Jitendra Singh held multiple discussions with the CJP protesters, no breakthrough could be achieved for days.
The protesters had said Pradhan's resignation demand was non-negotiable.
Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi sent a couple of video messages on Thursday and Friday to address the youth but the CJP protesters remained firm on their resignation demand.
