Former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna gets life term for raping domestic worker
Former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 11 lakh for raping a 47-year-old domestic worker in Mysuru and recording it.

Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
As per the verdict, the fine that will be paid by the politician will be paid to the rape survivor as compensation.
The rape case was filed by a domestic worker from KR Nagar in Mysuru, Karnataka.
In a speedy trial, the verdict was delivered within 14 months since the case was registered.
The survivor reportedly submitted a saree in the court as evidence.
The forensic analysis had confirmed the presence of sperm on the saree, which the complainant had preserved.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of CID had submitted a chargesheet of 2,000 pages against Revanna.
The trial had begun on December 31, 2024.
In April 2024, Revanna's explicit videos showing alleged sexual assaults, reportedly involving Prajwal Revanna surfaced online.
He had fled to Germany and a lookout notice was issued.
The Hassan MP from Karnataka was arrested upon returning to India in May 2024.
