India continues to help crisis-hit Sri Lanka, distributes ration
India, under its 'Neighbourhood First' policy, has once again approached to help debt-ridden Sri Lanka as New Delhi distributed ration in Kalmunai.
The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka tweeted: " Support by

Sri Lanka plunged into a financial crisis in recent times after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The nation witnessed further escalation of troubles during the Ukraine war as prices for imports, particularly fuel, rose sharply due to soaring inflation.
Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Vinod K Jacob attended the inauguration of the Medicare 2023 health care exhibition in Colombo on Mar 3.
In his speech on the occasion, he noted that India-Sri Lanka bilateral relations are at their highest point and attributed deep rooted people to people connect as the main reason for the same.
He made references to five specific developments that are central to the excellent bilateral relationship.
