Indian Embassy in US marks Yoga Day, 500 enthusiasts participate
The Embassy of India in the USA organised the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations at the historic Lincoln Memorial, in Washington D.C on Thursday.

"To highlight this year’s theme of 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' the event included invocations of blessings and peace for all humanity," the US Embassy in India said in a statement.
Over 500 yoga enthusiasts took part in the event. In addition to the yoga session, the event also showcased a Kuchipudi classical dance performance.
In the run up to IDY 2025, several curtain raiser events have been organized by the Embassy and Consulates across the United States of America with active participation and support of numerous community organizations and Yoga enthusiasts.
Amid Indian PM Narendra Modi’s relentless efforts, June 21 was declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly.
In its resolution, the UNGA endorsed that "Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being apart from striking a balance between all aspects of life. The wider dissemination of information about the benefits of practising Yoga would be beneficial for the health of the world population."
This infused an era of holistic health revolution in which attention was given more to prevention rather than the cure.
