Jammu and Kashmir: 80 AMRUT projects worth Rs 406 cr completed in Mission cities
Srinagar: A total of 80 projects worth Rs 406 crore have been completed under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) across three cities in Jammu and Kashmir, media reports said on Sunday.
The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has asked the Government of Union Territory to ensure prompt execution of 24 other works, the contract for which has already been awarded, reports Daily Excelsior.
The AMRUT scheme was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in June 2015 under Ministry of Urban Development with the focus of the urban renewal projects is to establish infrastructure that could ensure adequate robust sewerage networks and water supply for urban transformation.
As per the document of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs containing progress of AMRUT projects, in three Mission cities of Jammu and Kashmir a total of 80 projects worth Rs 405.79 crore have been completed while as contract has been awarded for 24 works worth Rs 194.22 crore, the work on which will begin shortly as the Union Ministry wants early completion of the same, reports Daily Excelsior.
As far as sewerage and septage connections are concerned, there was target of 265802 connections as per State Annual Action Plan (SAAP).
In three Mission cities, a total of 66,500 new sewer connections have been provided while as a total of 264642 households have been covered under Septage Management.
