Maharashtra: Panicked passengers jump from one train to be hit by another coming from opposite direction amid fire rumour, several feared dead
Several people are feared to have died on Wednesday after they jumped from one train amid a rumour that it had caught fire to be run over by another that was coming from the other side in Jalgaon region of Maharashtra.
According to reports, several passengers of the Pushpak Express jumped out of it in panic amid fire rumours, only to be struck on the other side by the incoming Karnataka Express.
Officials from the district administration are en route to the site of the incident, and rescue operations are underway, reported India Today.
The exact casualty figure and the condition of the injured people are still not known.
