Mumbai school teacher 'rapes' male student for a year
A school teacher in Mumbai was arrested for allegedly repeatedly raping her student over the course of a year, media reports said.

She allegedly committed the acts at various locations, including five-star hotels, and is also accused of putting the survivor on antidepressants, reported India Today.
The teacher has been reportedly arrested under sections of the Pocso and the Juvenile Justice Act.
She has been taken into custody by Dadar Police.
According to reports, the 40-year-old teacher is married and was attracted towards the boy when they met on several occasions while preparing for a dance function in 2023.
The boy initially avoided her, but soon the teacher roped in one of her female friends to intercede on her behalf.
The friend who has also been booked, allegedly told the minor that relationships between older women and teenage boys had “become quite common", reported Hindustan Times.
“She also told the student that the teacher and he were made for each other,” a police officer close to the investigation told the newspaper.
After the friend’s telephone call, the student decided to meet the teacher, who reportedly teaches English in school.
“She picked him up in her sedan, took him to an isolated spot and forcefully undressed him and assaulted him,” one of the police officers told HT.
“Over the next few days when the student developed acute anxiety, she even gave him some anti-anxiety pills.”
Police have seized the car.
After the boy passed out of school, the teacher tried to contact him through her domestic help.
“That’s when the family decided to approach us and file a case,” the officer told Hindustan Times.
“We have registered a case under sections 4 (penetrative sexual assault), 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) and 17 (abetment of offences) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and various sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015,” said the police officer.
