Police seize 929 cartoons of illegal liquor in Assam's Biswanath
Guwahati: Police seized 929 cartoons of illegal liquor from a truck and arrested two persons in Assam's Biswanath.
According to the reports, based on secret information, police team of Behali and Borgang police station launched an operation and intercepted a truck bearing registration number MN-03T-1401 at Boginadi area with the help of Lakhimpur district police.
"We recovered 929 cartoons of illegal liquor from the truck which were kept hide in cement blocks. We have recovered a total of 24516 bottles of illegal liquor from the truck. The market value of the seized illegal liquor is estimated at around Rs 37 lakh. We have arrested two persons. Further investigation is on," Navin Singh, Superintendent of Police of Biswanath said.
The arrested persons were identified as Liu Singh and Dinku Singh.
