Rules for logging in to the Parliament website changed after Mahua Moitra controversy

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Secretariat has changed the log-in rules to the Parliament website following a controversy involving Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who allegedly gave her credentials to a businessman to post questions on her behalf in exchange for favours, media reported

According to people aware of the matter, the revised rules stipulate that neither personal staff nor any external party can use the Digital Sansad website to issue notices or submit queries on behalf of an MP, India Today reported.

The site is now exclusively accessible to parliamentarians, who must use their unique login credentials for entry, the report said.

The Trinamool MP may be at risk of disqualification from the Lok Sabha due to the allegations against her, following the adoption of the Ethics Committee's report earlier this month.

The report was endorsed by six members of the ethics panel regarding the charges against her, while four members opposed it.

According to information from sources reported by India Today, the preliminary report suggests that Moitra could face disqualification from the Lok Sabha based on the ongoing investigation into the matter.
