Six killed, several injured in stampede at Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar
Haridwar (Uttarakhand): At least six people lost their lives and several others sustained serious injuries in a stampede at the Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar on Sunday, according to Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar, reported ANI.
The injured are being rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
While the exact cause of the incident is still unclear, the stampede is believed to have occurred amid heavy footfall during the Shraavana season, when devotees throng the temple in large numbers.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said relief efforts are underway, with rescue teams deployed at the site.

“SDRF, local police, and other rescue teams have reached the site and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. I am in constant contact with the local administration regarding this matter, and the situation is being closely monitored,” read a translation of the post on X.
