Supreme Court recalls its order to remove Allahabad HC judge from criminal jurisdiction on CJI's request
New Delhi/IBNS: The Supreme Court on Friday recalled its previous order that removed Allahabad High Court judge Justice Prashant Kumar from criminal jurisdiction on Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai's request, media reports said.

On August 4, a bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan had removed Justice Kumar from criminal jurisdiction until his retirement.
The bench removed the judge for allowing criminal proceedings in a civil dispute case.
A group of Allahabad High Court judges had written to Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and urged him to call a full court meeting in view of the top court order that removed Justice Kumar from the criminal jurisdiction.
The top court bench of Justices Pardiwala and Mahadevan on Friday deleted its previous observation where it had slammed Justice Kumar.
The bench said it deleted the observation following a request from the CJI who appealed for a reconsideration of the previous order.
The court cleared that it did not mean to embarrass Justice Kumar.
