Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan step in to mediate after Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3
Don 3 has become one of the most closely watched projects in Bollywood after reports emerged that Ranveer Singh has exited the film amid a dispute with the makers.
Now, some of the industry’s biggest names are reportedly working behind the scenes to resolve the impasse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter India, a high-level meeting was recently held to discuss the status of Don 3.
The gathering reportedly included Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Zoya Akhtar, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, Ramesh Taurani, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Amritpal Singh Bindra.
The controversy centres on Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from the project.
Earlier, NDTV claimed that Farhan Akhtar’s banner Excel Entertainment had allegedly sought Rs. 40 crore as compensation from the actor after he walked away from the film.
As per reports, Aamir Khan has stepped in as a mediator in an attempt to bring both sides to an amicable resolution.
The development gained traction after Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ektaa Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar were seen leaving Aamir Khan’s Mumbai residence in recent days.
A source told NDTV, “Aamir is trying to resolve the issues between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment. The two have had some unresolved issues, which have caught the eye. The meetings at his place are for the same.”
The Don franchise was revived by Farhan Akhtar in 2006 with Shah Rukh Khan headlining the remake of the 1978 classic. Its sequel, Don 2, released in 2011.
In 2023, Excel Entertainment announced Ranveer Singh as the new face of the franchise for Don 3, marking a generational shift in the iconic action series.
With mediation efforts now underway, the fate of Don 3 and whether Ranveer Singh will return to the project remains uncertain.
