Blow to CSK! MS Dhoni to miss first two weeks of IPL due to calf strain
Chennai/IBNS: In a major setback for the Chennai Super Kings, veteran cricketer MS Dhoni is set to miss the first two weeks of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to a calf strain.
The franchise confirmed that the former CSK captain “is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a calf strain.”
The IPL 2026 season will begin on March 28 with a clash between defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
CSK will kick off their campaign against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on March 30.

In recent seasons, Dhoni has featured primarily as a lower-order batter, with the 44-year-old nearing the twilight of his illustrious career.
Having represented two franchises since 2008, the World Cup-winning captain has amassed over 5,000 runs in more than 250 IPL matches.
One of the most successful captains in IPL history, Dhoni led CSK to five titles in the tournament.
