PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi leaves stadium mid-match as India crush Pakistan in T20 World Cup clash
Colombo/IBNS: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s early departure from the stadium during the India-Pakistan clash at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2025 reflected the frustration surrounding Pakistan’s struggles against India in ICC tournaments.
In a video that went viral on social media, Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s Interior Minister, was seen leaving the stadium in a black car while Pakistan were losing quick wickets during their run chase.
India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs to seal their place in the Super 8 stage of the tournament on Sunday.
Pakistan, who currently have four points, must win their final group match against Namibia to keep their qualification hopes alive. They are placed third in Group A, level on points with the United States but behind on Net Run Rate.

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan starred with an explosive 77 off 40 balls, hitting 10 fours and three sixes, to help India post 175/7 in 20 overs after the middle order failed to fully capitalise on a strong start.
Shivam Dube contributed 27 off 17 balls, while Rinku Singh added a cameo of 11 runs to push India to a competitive total.
Pakistan’s chase faltered early as they lost four wickets during the powerplay. The innings never recovered, eventually collapsing under a disciplined and collective Indian bowling effort.
