Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is an important digital health initiative of the Central government and that, through this, it has been possible to provide a digital health identity to every citizen of the country as well as bring health services under a secure and integrated platform.

Dr Saha said this while attending a meeting chaired by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J. P. Nadda.

"So far, about 18 lakh digital tokens have been distributed among patients in 31 government hospitals through Scan and Share services. As a result, the waiting time for patients has been reduced, and services are also being provided faster. Various services are being provided digitally to patients coming for medical services at IGM Hospital, which has been developed as a model hospital under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission," he said.

Dr Saha said that West Tripura district has been selected as a model district under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission to implement various programmes.

"Initiatives have been taken to link the Integrated Hospital Management Information System (IHMIS) with various government health portals for the easy exchange of patient information and health records. The National Health Claim Exchange will be launched in all government hospitals covered under PM-JAY and CM-JAY in the coming days. As a result, it will be possible to avail of health insurance in a fast, paperless, and easy manner," he added.
