The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with full patriotic fervour and enthusiasm across BSF Tripura Frontier, with ceremonies held at Frontier Headquarters, Sector Headquarters, Battalions, Units and Border Out Posts (BOPs) across Tripura.
At Frontier Headquarters, BSF, Salbagan, Smt Princee Rani, IG, Tripura Frontier, paid solemn tribute to the martyrs at Smriti Sthal, honouring their supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. Thereafter, the National Flag was hoisted with full ceremonial honours, accompanied by a Guard of Honour.
Similar ceremonial flag-hoisting ceremonies were organised at BSF Units and BOPs across Tripura, where Guards of Honour were presented, reflecting the discipline, pride and rich ceremonial traditions of the Force.
Addressing the gathering at Frontier Headquarters, Smt Princee Rani, IG, Tripura Frontier, paid rich tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the martyrs and exhorted all ranks to remain dedicated to their duties with courage, discipline and professionalism. She called upon BSF personnel to uphold the proud traditions of the Force and continue serving the nation with unwavering commitment.
Adding colour and patriotic spirit to the celebrations, BSF Ankur Play Schools organised special Independence Day programmes in which BSF wards presented spectacular cultural performances imbued with patriotic fervour and national pride. The programmes showcased the talent and enthusiasm of the young generation and added a vibrant dimension to the celebrations.
Meanwhile, on the operational front, a high state of alert is being maintained along the Indo-Bangladesh International Boundary in Tripura. BSF personnel are maintaining heightened vigil through intensified surveillance, border domination and round-the-clock deployment to thwart any untoward activities by anti-national elements (ANEs) and cross-border smugglers.
Further at the State-level 80th Independence Day Celebration held at Assam Rifle Parade Ground, Agartala,
the BSF Marching Contingent was adjudged the Best Marching Contingent.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, presented the trophy to the Commander of the BSF Marching Contingent, recognising their exemplary discipline, precision and outstanding performance.
The celebrations reaffirmed the spirit of patriotism, unity and dedication among BSF personnel and their families. On the occasion, the Force reiterated its resolve to remain steadfast in safeguarding the nation’s borders and protecting its sovereignty, while remembering with gratitude the supreme sacrifices of the brave hearts who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
