A thieves gang arrested by Agartala city police, recovered stolen items
Despite continuous arrest of different gang members of thieves, the growing incident of stealing has continued in different parts of the capital city of Agartala and on Monday again, the city police has arrested five thieves including a woman and recovered stolen items including gold jewelry and cash amount.
Giving details, SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy along OC of West Agartala police, Paritosh Das said that in the last part of October last, one Jogesh Majumder of Joynagar road number-1 filed a complaint of theft at West Agartala police station, that group of thieves raided his lonely house and looted away valuable items including gold jewellery and cash amount.
Based on the complaint, a police team started an investigation to identify the gang involved in the incident. On Sunday night, a police team managed to arrest two of them, said Roy.
Based on confessional statements of arrested thieves, police have also managed to arrest three other thieves including a woman involved with the stealing incident.
Police have also recovered gold ornaments, mobile, watch and a few cash amounts under their possessions and forwarded them before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
