ADG-BSF reviews current security scenario of Tripura frontiers
Additional Director General, BSF (Eastern Command), Kolkata, Ravi Gandhi, during his three-day visit from June 6 to 8, 2024, to BSF Frontier Tripura, reviewed the current security scenario and discussed various operational and administrative aspects of border management.
BSF sources said that ADG was welcomed by IG BSF Tripura, Patel Piyush Purusottam Das and other senior officers. IG BSF Tripura briefed the ADG about the general security scenario along the Indo - Bangladesh International border of Tripura Frontier. The IG also briefed the ADG about the challenges along the Indo-Bangladesh border and measures taken to counter them.
The ADG also had a meeting with the Chief Secretary of Tripura, Jitendra Kumar Sinha and DGP of Tripura, Amitabh Ranjan and had discussion on the current security scenario in the state. He visited Border Out Post (BOP) Yakubnagar and Lathiapura where the Commandants briefed him on operational preparedness. He also visited Land Customs Station (LCS) Manughat and Rangna, and reviewed its functioning.
The ADG's visit concluded with the DIsG and Commandants Conference, and he highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the international border of Tripura.
Dr (Mrs) Prema Gandhi, President, BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA), HQ SDG (EC) also accompanied the ADG during his visit. She visited the Composite Hospital and interacted with the patients. She also reviewed the BSF Wives Welfare Association activities and emphasised the need to proactively address the various issues. She also interacted with the ladies of the Tripura Frontier and addressed their concerns, shared words of encouragement, and reinforced the association's support for their welfare.
