Administration imposed movement restrictions for rickshaws, e-rickshaws in busy roads of Agartala

In a significant and timely step, the West Tripura district administration has imposed ban on the movements of e-rickshaw and rickshaws in some busies roads of agartala city during peak hours.
Recently, the District Magistrate (DM) of West Tripura district, Dr Vishal Kumar through a notification has imposed restrictions over movements of rickshaws and e-rickshaws to get rid of massive traffic jams across the city during peak hours.
As per the notification issued by the DM on last Wednesday under section 105 of Tripura Motor Vehicle Rules 1991 and Motor Vehicle Act 1988 and sections 116 and 117, from morning 8.30 AM to 11 AM and in the afternoon 4.30 PM to 7 PM, all the slow moving vehicles including rickshaws and e-rickshaws cannot move in the routes of IGM to RMS Choumohani, BK Choumohani to Colonel Choumohani, North Gate to IGM Choumohani including TRTC Crossing via Bidurkarta Choumohani.
The notification also asked the Traffic department for immediate implementation of the restrictions in these roads of Agartala city during busy hours.
