Agartala city police arrested two drug peddlers with Heroin
Based on secret information, the Agartala city police caught red-handed two peddlers with Heroin, when they were busy with selling the drugs to youths behind the Pragati school area of the city on Wednesday night.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of West Agartala police station, Rana Chatterjee on Thursday afternoon said that based on secret information, a joint team of police personnel from West Agartala police station and Ramnagar Town Outpost raided that area. During the raid, a police team managed to caught red-handed two drug peddlers, identified as Banti Nayek and Sujit Roy and recovered large quantities of Heroin and 25 empty vials under their possession.
Chatterjee said that both arrested drug peddlers were actively involved selling drugs to nearby areas under a specific drug trading network and police teams are investigating to get details of their drug trading network.
He added that both drug peddlers were produced before a local court with police remand appeals in a case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 for further interrogation.
