Agriculture minister condemns false claims over no NREGA work in ADC areas
A section are misleading the people of the state through their false and fabricated claims that no MGNREGA works in ADC areas of the state and there is scarcity of jobs and foods, said Agriculture and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Addressing a press conference at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday evening, Minister Ratan Lal Nath giving details of the statistics of MGNREGA works conducted in rural blocks of the state, said among 14 ADC villagers under Mungiakami block, the average mandays works conducted 100.69 in Halodiya Village Committee and similarly, other villages have above 75 mandays .
He said among 507 families of Halodiya village, 309 families are getting free 5 kilograms of rice per head, 283 families get new houses under PMAY and tap water connection has been given to 233 houses. He also castigated a media report and false claims of CPI(M) MLA Jitendra Chaudhury.
Highlighting the media reports, published on November 24 last over sale of a new born girl child, Nath said that immediately Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha instructed the DM of Khowai district to enquire into the matter and the child has been rescued and handed over to her biological parents.
He said that the administration has taken steps for the livelihood of the parents of the infant and instruction has been given to provide ration card, MGNREGA cards to this Jhumia family. At present that administration is planning to give them Land Patta and house under the PMAY scheme.
