Assam Rifles seize 90,000 Yaba tablets, worth Rs. 14.4 crore from Teliamura
In a significant success against drug trafficking, Assam Rifles, in a coordinated operation with the local Police department, successfully seized 90,000 Yaba tablets in Teliamura under Khowai district of Tripura on Thursday. The operation also resulted in the arrest of one individual and the confiscation of a Tata Truck.
An Assam Rifles press statement said that following a tip-off, Assam Rifles swiftly launched the operation, which culminated in the seizure of the contraband and the subsequent handover of the apprehended individual and the vehicle to the police department for further investigation and legal proceedings. The recovered Yaba tablets are valued at approximately Rs 14.4 crore in international market. This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal smuggling activities in the region.
