Assam Rifles seized 265 kgs dry Ganja from Mandwai
As part of the Assam Rifles massive crackdown on narcotics and drugs abuse in Tripura, the Assam Rifles under Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) seized 265 kilograms of dry Cannabis worth Rs 13.25 lakh from Ashigar village of Mandwai under West Tripura district on Sunday.
Assam Rifles through a press statement said that based on the input received from a reliable source of a large quantity of processed Marijuana (Ganja) hidden at Ashigar village in Mandwai, a team of Assam Rifles along with state police personnel of Mandwai police station launched a swift operation in which 265 kilograms of Marijuana seized after thorough search of the area. The cost of the seized Ganja is estimated to be of Rs 13.25 lakh. The seized Ganja has been handed over to the authorities of Mandwai police station and an FIR has been registered against the owner of the house from where the contraband items have been recovered.
