Assam Rifles seized drug worth of Rs. 2.25 crore, three peddlers arrested
The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (East) in a joint operation with Kumarghat police station of Unakoti district detained three drug peddlers along with Heroin on August 29.
Based on credible information of drugs sale, a joint Operation was launched by Assam Rifles with police representatives from Kumarghat Police Station wherein the operation party apprehended three individuals along with 558 grams of Heroin with approximate cost of Rs 2.25 crore from general area Kumarghat,
The detained drug peddlers along with seized contents were handed over to Kumarghat police station for further investigation and legal proceedings. Detained drug peddlers were identified as Joyston of West Tripura, Bhudiram of Sepahijala district and Bishma Debbarma of Gogon Kobra village of Sepahijala district and all these drug peddlers were arrested by Kumarghat police station under a specific case of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
