BL Santosh arrives, attend series of meeting with BJP leaders, met CM
In order to strengthen the BJP’s preparations for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, the national general secretary (organization) B L Santosh on Wednesday arrived Agartala and started meetings
BJP sources said that Santosh is scheduled to stay in the city for two days and will stress on strengthening the organization and formulating policy for tribal areas.
According to sources the party is not yet considering any alliance with Tipra-Motha but did not rule out the possibility also. It is learned that the party will take final decision in this regard after seeing the response of the proposed ‘Delisting Rally’ to be held on Christmas Day by Janajati Suraksha Manch (JSM) known as an organization close to RSS.
Santosh arrived in Agartala Airport on Wednesday afternoon accompanied by national secretary and coordinator for Northeast Sambit Patra, national secretary Rituraj Sinha, Probhari (in-charge) Dr Mahesh Sharma and organizing Secretary Rabindra Raju. State party president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other leaders including Minister Tinku Roy, Papia Datta, Amit Rakshit and Ratan Ghosh received them in the airport and all of the leaders reached the state headquarters of the party at Agartala to attend meetings with state leaders.
After a series of meetings and consultations with the leaders, Santosh also visited the official residence of the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and had discussed party affairs with him.
However, the sources did not rule out the possibility of some changes in the organizational level especially in the frontal organizations. Some heads of the frontal organizations who have been appointed as chairman of corporations may be replaced.
Steps to be taken for strengthening the organization is the highest priority for him and will hold few training programs for important functionaries. On Thursday, Santosh will attend a training programme for the in-charges of Shakti Kendras which will be followed by several other similar programmes.
