BSF deployed 66 companies’ jawans in East Tripura for peaceful voting
Polling during the 2nd phase of election in Tripura on April 26th, 2024 went off peacefully. BSF had beefed up security on the border as well as in hinterland.
In the second phase of election 17 companies in Dhalai district, 15 companies in North Tripura ,11 companies in Khowai, 08 companies in Unakoti, 08 companies in South Tripura and 7 companies in Gomati (total 66 companies of BSF) were deployed, for pre poll domination and for security during poll. Flag marches were held in the run up to the poll to create a feeling of security among the local population. Joint operations with police and other agencies were conducted to keep a check on miscreants.
Border Security Force, Tripura facilitated the border population to discharge their electoral rights and all assistance were provided so that the border population could exercise their democratic rights. At the same time, BSF also maintained a tight vigil along the border so that criminal elements could not create any hindrance in the electoral process. Special arrangements were made at fence gates, where voters are residing ahead of fence. Old aged and ‘divyang’ voters were assisted by the BSF troops deployed at polling booths.
BSF is fully committed to promote safety & security among the border population and facilitate them to cast their votes during the biggest democratic process in the world.
