BSF foils infiltration bid, apprehends seven Bangladeshi in Tripura
The BSF troops deployed in the area of Harnakhola border outpost (BOP) under Sidhai police station of West Tripura district apprehended seven Bangladeshi nationals while they were trying to negotiate the border fencing on Sunday night.
BSF’s spokesperson in Agartala on Monday said that based on specific information over infiltration bid by Bangladeshi, the alert jawans were managed to detain them after they crossed the international border.,
BSF added that among the detained, two Bangladeshi nationals are residents of district Maulvibazar and five Bangladeshi including one woman and child are residents of Brahmanbaria district of Bangladesh. Border guards has also recovered 1.5 lakhs Bangladesh taka and 300 US dollars under their possession.
In another operation on specific information one Indian national was apprehended in the area of BOP Mantoli under Amtali police station of West Tripura district and 14 small packets of suspected brown sugar were recovered from his possession. Further on questioning him, 1000 Yaba tablets were recovered from a culvert near Nischintpur bridge.
In addition, in separate operations BSF troops seized a huge quantity of Ganja and 1.75 ton of Sugar. BSF in Tripura has intensified operation and domination on border to thwart any attempt of infiltration and to prevent transborder crimes.
