BSF in a joint operation destroys Ganja plantation
Based on specific information, regarding one Babul Mazumdar of Nirbhoypur under Jatrapur police station of Sepahijala district preparing Ganja (Cannabis) plant nursery at the back side of his house, a joint-operation by BSF from Nirbhaypur border out post (BOP) along with Forest department personnel and police forces from Jatrapur police station was planned and carried out.
A BSF press statement said that during the operation the joint operation party destroyed more than 15,000 Ganja saplings by uprooting them. Legal action is being taken by Forest department and Jatrapur police station against land owners.
BSF is highly committed to stop the menace of Ganja cultivation in the bordering areas of Tripura.
