BSF seized big haul of narcotics and other contraband items
As a part of special “Anti-smuggling Drive’ BSF in Tripura on Friday in joint operation with department of Customs Agartala, BSF troops successfully seized 220 Kgs of Ganja (Cannabis) worth Rs. 33 lakhs from a house located in Jalaibari village under Sidhai police station of West Tripura district.
In another such operation on 1st February, 2024 in the area of Border out post (BOP) Karamtilla near Kalachera on NH-08 under South Tripura district, BSF troops seized a big consignment of clothing items worth Rs. 48.25 lakh loaded in a vehicle and detained one Indian national (Driver).
A BSF press statement said that border guards are fully committed to eradicate the menace of drugs trafficking, narcotics smuggling in the state of Tripura besides safeguarding the international border in Tripura.
