By-polls: Indo-Bangla border in Sepahijala district to be sealed
As per the directive issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Indo-Bangla border along with Sepahijala district of Tripura will be sealed from September 3rd to 5 PM of September 5th next till the completion of peaceful completion of by-elections.
Official sources said that Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura and District Magistrate (DM) of Sepahijala district based on the directive of the ECI has issued order over sealing of international border for the by-elections of 20-Boxanagar and 23-Dhanpur assembly constituencies, to be held on September 5th next.
Both the constituencies fall under Sepahijala district and during the sealing period except BSF officers, jawans, assigned government authorities and other security forces, no people can cross the international boundary along with Sepahijala district.
Similarly, through immigration centre of Srimantapur under the same district, no Bangladesh citizen will be allowed to enter Indian territory.
