By-polls: People's confidence in BJP clearly visible: CM
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday said that the people's confidence in BJP is clearly visible in the poll-bound assembly constituencies as they have recognized their mistakes and have expressed their intention to rectify them by voting for the BJP in the upcoming by-election.
Dr Saha on Saturday addressed a massive gathering in the Dhanpur Assembly Constituency which was attended by a significant number of women, particularly from the minority Muslim community.
Dr Saha today addressed the election campaing for BJP candidate Bindu Debnath in Kathalia, within the Dhanpur Assembly Constituency.
"During 2023, many people had anticipated a change in government, but once again, the BJP-IPFT government has received the people's blessings to continue in power. By-elections are scheduled for Dhanpur and Boxanagar, and during door-to-door campaigns, people have acknowledged that they made the wrong choice previously and intend to correct it by voting for the BJP. Our party stands firmly with the people of the state. Our government consistently prioritizes the welfare of the people, in contrast to the previous government, which often created problems and pursued divisive politics. Our government believes in 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'," Dr. Saha said.
Dr Saha also emphasized that the BJP and the present state government do not discriminate on the basis of religion or caste.
"To transform Ek Tripura into Srestha Tripura, we must work together. We have also increased social pension benefits. Some individuals had merely used politics to deceive the people. They tarnished the sanctity of the Assembly with unruly behavior and have now aligned themselves with CPIM. In this by-election, they even held a clandestine meeting, and yet, Congress leaders claim they have not received any invitations for campaigning. What kind of meeting was that?" said Dr Saha.
Furthermore, Dr Saha pointed out that people's confidence in the BJP has grown, as many have left the Congress and CPIM to join the BJP.
"We are here to resolve people's problems, not to create them. You have witnessed how the previous CPIM government frequently created issues," he said.
Later, Chief Minister also address a gathering in Boxanagar for BJP candidate Tafajjal Hossain where 293 voters joined BJP.
Present at the event were BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, Janajati Kalyan Department Minister Bikas Debbarma, MoS Partima Bhoumik, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, and others.
