Car and e-rickshaw collision near Sepahijala zoo, one died, 9 injured
In a tragic road accident, one old-age died on the spot and nine more passengers of a Maruti Eco car and e-rickshaw suffered critical injuries after both vehicles collided face on at Noukaghat area near Sepahijala zoo on Sunday afternoon.
Police sources said that a group of family was returning from Mata Bari of Udaipur towards Agartala and an e-rickshaw with passengers was also coming from the opposite direction. When both the vehicles reached Noukaghat area under Sepahijala district, they collided face on with heavy speed. After the collision, the driver of the Maruti Eco car lost his control and crashed into a moving motorbike.
As a result, one lady, identified as Saraswati Sarkar (74) boarded in the e-rickshaw died on the spot and nine more passengers from both Maruti car and e-rickshaw suffered critical injuries.
After the accident, local people and Firefighters shifted all injured persons to Bishalgarh hospital and from all injured nine persons including a child were shifted to the trauma care center of GB Hospital.
Police added that the body of the deceased old lady shifted to Bishalgarh hospital morgue for autopsy and police started an investigation over the road accident.
