Child drowned in a pit hole in absence of her parents at Jirania

In a heartrending incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old child drowned in a pit hole near the house due to the negligence of her parents at Bishrambari village under Jirania police station of West Tripura district on Wednesday.
Police sources said that Cristina Debbarma, a one-and-a-half-year-old child of Lilton Debbarma and Sukasari Debbarma, residents of the Bishrambari area under Jirania police station, drowned in a hole near the house in absence of her parents. At that time, the child's father was in a shop and the mother was working in the field.
When she was rescued from the hole near her house, immediately she was shifted to Jirania hospital and after her condition deteriorated, doctors referred to GB Hospital. But, her father reached GB Hospital, the doctor in the Trauma centre declared her brought dead.
Locals claim that the death of one-and-a-half-year-old child Cristina Debbarma was due to the negligence of her parents. A shadow of grief fell over the entire area surrounding after this incident.
