Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that a club's responsibility towards society can increase its acceptability and credibility among the general public.
“At present, clubs organize cultural programs along with social activities like blood donation, clothing donation and tree plantation. Besides, clubs are also playing an important role in resolving minor issues in the area,” said Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha while inaugurating a blood donation camp organized at the Aurobindo Sangha premises in Arundhatinagar on Friday.
It is to be noted that various programs have been organized on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the 155th birth anniversary of Rishi Aurobindo Ghosh and the 72nd foundation day of the club on the initiative of Aurobindo Sangha. As a part of this, the blood donation camp was organized on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that women are also currently associated with various programs of the club, which indicates the increasing importance of the role of clubs in the present times.
“Clubs need to come forward to resolve various problems in the club area impartially, without exerting any influence on the elders of the area. Then the credibility of the common people towards the club will increase day by day,” said Dr. Saha.
Regarding the importance of blood donation, the Chief Minister said that blood donation creates a divine bond between blood donors and blood recipients.
“Through programs like blood donation, the attitude of religious, caste and class discrimination in society is reduced. Nothing is above humanity. Standing by the side of people in their needs should be the true religion of humanity. Only 15 percent of the total population has a negative blood group. Blood donation reduces the risk of stroke and various heart problems to a great extent. Currently, there are 12 government and 2 private blood banks in the state. The government is trying to increase this number,” he said.
Regarding the Har Ghar Tiranga program, the Chief Minister said that through this program, along with awakening the spirit of patriotism among the common people, respect for the national flag has also increased manifold.
