CM launches Navdisha Abhiyan to uplift marginalized families
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday said that the present government has given special importance to providing proper facilities to citizens from all sections and has been working towards the socio-economic development, qualitative upliftment, and transformation of the people living in the backward block areas of the state.
He said that along with this, the state government is taking initiatives to honor the Samajpatis of the Janajati communities.
Dr Saha said this while participating in the Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh at Pragya Bhavan on Saturday.
At the event, Dr. Saha said that the Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh aims to ensure that there is no incompleteness anywhere.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi always says that 100% saturation should be achieved. The state government is also working in that direction. Emphasis should be placed on 100% implementation of various projects,” he said.
Today, the Chief Minister launched the Navdisha Abhiyan with a total outlay of Rs 50 crore and Rs 32 crore for 80 Integrated Farming Clusters (IFCs).
“One of its goals is to improve the lives of poor and marginalized families. According to the information provided by the state finance minister, there are currently 1 lakh 8 thousand self-help groups (SHGs) in the state,” he said.
He added that the campaign has been launched to improve the socio-economic conditions and livelihoods of those who have not been able to join self-help groups due to various reasons.
So far, 4 lakh 84 thousand women have been associated with 53,951 self-help groups in the state under TRLM.
While speaking, the Chief Minister said that a project called TRIPTI has been launched for the upliftment of about 4,000 poor families in the Ganganagar block of Dhalai district and the Dashda block of the North district.
“Along with this, the Mukhyamantri Navdisha campaign has been launched for the upliftment of about 10,000 families in around 16 blocks of the state. The Prime Minister’s dedicated efforts led to the launch of the Jan Dhan Yojana with zero balance. People are now reaping the benefits. About 55 crore accounts have been opened across the country under this scheme,” he said.
Dr Saha stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, 112 aspirational districts and 500 aspirational blocks have been identified under the completion campaign, with six key indicators set.
“The Rural Development Department of the Tripura government, as the nodal department, is doing a commendable job in accordance with the guidelines of NITI Aayog. A few days ago, officials from NITI Aayog visited the state and were pleased to witness the successful implementation of various projects in Tripura, which they highly appreciated,” said Dr Saha.
He further said that the state government is committed to improving the socio-economic conditions, quality of life, and prospects of citizens in the backward block areas. Monitoring, he said, is crucial to achieving this.
“In each block, emphasis has been given to health, nutrition, education, agriculture, resolving agricultural issues, and social development. The allowance of tribal leaders has been increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. This government has given importance to the integration of castes and tribes,” he said.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Secretary of the Rural Development Department Abhishek Singh, Secretary of the Planning Department L. T. Darlong, CEO of TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma, Additional Secretary Kuntal Das, and other high-ranking officials were present as distinguished guests at the event.
