CM to inaugurate 43rd Agartala book fair on Jan 2nd, 2025
The 43rd Agartala Book fair will begin from January 2nd, 2025 and the fair will continue up to January 14th next at Hapania International fairground and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the 13-days long fair on Thursday evening.
During the inauguration programme, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, deputy speaker of Tripura Assembly, Ramprasad Paul, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Dipak Majumder and Sabhadipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad, Balai Goswami along with Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) department, Dr PK Chakraborty and Vice-chairman of state’s Cultural Advisory Committee, Subrata Chakraborty. Renowned writer Joydip Chottapadhyay and MLA of Badharghat Assembly constituency, Minarani Sarkar will also be present in the inaugural ceremony.
Earlier, on November 19th, 2024 last in a meeting of the steering committee of the 43rd Agartala Book Fair held at Muktadhara auditorium has unanimously decided to organize the fair at Hapania International fairground from January 2nd to January 14th, 2025 next.
The schedule of the 43rd Agartala book fair was finalized during the first preparatory meeting of the fair committee, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, which was held at the Muktadhara auditorium in Agartala on October 28 evening. And in the second meeting of the steering committee led by chairman of the managing committee and Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder has unanimously decided to organize the 43rd Agartala book fair again at Hapania international fairground considering all ground facilities.
Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, Director of ICA through a PowerPoint presentation described the details of the fair and the steps being taken to make it a success. He said the sub-committees of the fair have taken steps for a more attractive 43rd Agartala book fair.
During the fair days, there will be book publication, poet conference, quiz and cultural programmes to be organized daily with participation of state’s artists along with some famous artists from other states of the country.
Like previous years, this year also free bus services will be provided for book lovers from different parts of Agartala city up to fair complex and fair will continue from 2.30 PM to 9 PM every day and on holidays it will continue up to 9.30 PM.
