As part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Thursday visited the Child Care Unit at Abhoynagar and assured the children and students staying there that the state government would continue to support their education, welfare and future.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Special Secretary Kuntal Das and Director L. Ranchal during the visit.
Interacting with the children, Dr. Saha said the government is committed to helping them build successful lives and encouraged them to participate in music, yoga and other extracurricular activities alongside their studies. He reminded the inmates that they were not alone and that the government stood firmly by them.
He also urged officials and caregivers to treat the children with sincerity and affection, just as they would their own family members. The Chief Minister said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, beginning on Thursday, marks the celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years of public service, first as Gujarat Chief Minister and later as Prime Minister. He noted that Seva Divas is being observed across the state as part of the campaign.
Dr Saha further highlighted that many students from Tripura who completed GNM, ANM and nursing courses have secured employment in various organisations within the state and across the country. During the programme, the children presented cultural performances and a yoga demonstration. The Chief Minister later distributed gifts among the children and wished them a bright and prosperous future.
