The Agartala Railway station, which became a destination from human trafficking and drug network and has recorded detention of a huge number of illegal infiltrators of Bangladeshi and Rohingyas with seizure of huge quantities of contraband items, smuggled through different passenger trains.
In its fresh edition, the Government Railway Police (GRP) along with RPF on Friday evening seized large quantities of contraband cough syrup from Tejas Rajdhani express after it arrived in the Agartala station from New Delhi.
Giving details OC of GRP, Agartala Station, Tapash Das said on Friday afternoon on the basis of secret information, GRP and RPF conducted checking at Agartala–Anand Vihar terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express after the passenger train arrived at Agartala station from Anand Vihar terminal of New Delhi and where found three bags near toilet of couch number-B-7.
He said that forces recovered a total of 245 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup as unclaimed. After seizing contraband items observing all legal formalities, the Agartala GRP police station has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal contraband items, which has a market value of Rs. 98,000.
