CPIM) MLA Samsul Haque passes away after he suffered severe cardiac arrest
Senior CPI (M) leader and MLA of Boxanagar assembly constituency Samsul Haque breathed his last after he suffered a cardiac arrest in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Samsul Haque who was 68 years old and member of CPI (M) state committee, suddenly fell sick on Tuesday night and was shifted to GB hospital from his ancestor house in Boxanagar area of Sonamura subdivision, where during treatment, Haque died at about 2 AM.
After his death Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed his condolences. In a social media post Dr Saha wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the demise of Honorable MLA Samsul Haque of Boxnagar Assembly Constituency. I pray for eternal peace for his departed soul. Also, my deepest condolences to the bereaved family".
The Chief Minister, who is going to North Tripura district by train from Agartala to join various programmes, in another tweet, said “I have decided to cancel all my government programmes today following the demise of Hon’ble member of Tripura Legislative Assembly Samsul Haque Ji.”
Later, the mortal remains of the departed leader were brought to state assembly, where deputy speaker Ram Prasad Paul along with many ruling and opposition MLAs paid their floral tributes.
The body of Haque was also brought to the state headquarters of CPI(M) at Melarmath area of Agartala, where top leaders of the party including former Chief Minister and CPI(M) Politburo member Manik Sarkar also paid their floral tributes to the departed leader.
Following the sudden demise of the CPI (M) MLA one more seat was left vacant along with Dhanpur Assembly Constituency in Sonamura Sub-division of Sepahijala district. Now CPI (M) has 10 MLAs in the state assembly.
