Deplorable road conditions claimed a life, injured another one
Deplorable road condition from Melaghar to Sonamura route under Sepahijala district on Friday claimed the life of a pedestrian and injuries to an auto-rickshaw driver.
Police sources said that on Friday morning one pedestrian, identified as Faizal Hoq (58), by profession a farmer was moving towards his agri-field through Melaghar-Sonamura main road.
By that time, an auto-rickshaw with passengers moving in that road amidst deplorable road conditions met an accident and dashed pedestrian Faizaul Hoq from his back.
As a result, Faizal Hoq and the driver of the auto-rickshaw suffered critical injuries and both were shifted to Melaghar hospital by firefighters and local people.
During treatment in the hospital, injured Faizal Hoq breathed his last due to his critical chest injuries and the injured driver was admitted in the hospital.
Aggrieved local villagers claimed that despite their repeated appeals to the local administration, the pathetic road condition became more miserable and daily commuters suffered tremendous hardship through movements in the Melaghar-Sonamura route and today’s accident is only the result of pathetic road conditions.
