Disputing land fierce fighting among two groups in Goyala Basti, one killed, seven injured
One sexagenarian man killed and as many as seven more sustained injuries after fierce fighting among two groups of people disputing boundary of two houses at the Goyala Basti area of Khejurbagan under NCC police station on Sunday night.
After clashes erupted among members of two families and their relatives and neighbours, a group of mob has also ransacked a house and hundreds people including women and children has also gheraoed the New Capital Complex police station demanding immediate arrest of all assailants responsible for the killing of one sexagenarian, Nagina Prasad (65).
Police sources said that two residents of Goyala Basti, Nichibir Ray and Sathindar Roy, a BSF jawan along with few others had allegedly attacked Nagina Prasad on Sunday evening disputing boundary land measuring about 36 inches. They have also attacked Nagina Prasad’s son , wife and few other relatives and their neighbours with sharp weapons and all of them have suffered minor and major injuries. But, the sexagenarian, Nagina Prasad was declared dead after he was shifted to GB Hospital with multiple injuries.
Sources said that after the incident, angry local people have also engaged with counter accusations towards the accused persons and on their relatives. They have also ransacked the house of two accused brothers Nichibir Ray and Sathindar Roy. While, after the incident was reported, a large number of police forces rushed to the spot and somehow managed to stop the pitch-battle among two rival groups.
Later, residents of Goyala Basti with relatives of Nagina Prasad have gheraoed the NCC police station demanding arrest of all accused persons responsible for killing of Nagina Prasad.
While giving details, the OC of NCC police station Sushanta Deb said that now the situation is under control and large numbers of police forces were deployed to defuse the tension. He said that police have also registered a specific case against some miscreants responsible for the murder of Nagina Prasad. So far, police have also managed to arrest one of the miscreants and they started investigation to arrest others, responsible for the murder. Deb added all persons injured in the dispute for a few inches of boundary land were released from hospital after primary treatment.
